What you can do on this page:
The Add Rights page displays details about a security and allows you to grant View or Transact rights to the second-named registrant of the Primary Owner registration. Transact rights allow the second-named registrant to perform a partial or full redemption of a security. You are only required to enter the grantee's TreasuryDirect account number, because the name and Social Security Number are displayed based on the registration.
HELPFUL HINT: If you grant Transact rights to a second-named registrant (grantee), you assume all tax liability for any redemption performed by the grantee.
Primary Actions
- Click "Select" to go to Manage Direct > Assign Rights > Summary. You, as the grantor, will see a message at the top of this page confirming View or Transact rights have been granted. The grantee will be sent an e-mail stating View or Transact rights were granted by you.
- Click "Cancel" to go to (Sole Owner and Primary registrations) Manage Direct > Assign Rights > Detail.
